Squid Meal if available, this is an excellent ingredient for shrimp feeds, but expensive. It appears to have growth promoting properties. Fresh squid can also be used in moist diets.

In a growth trial (1 to 48-days) with chicks squid meal based diet was found to out perform fish meal and meat and bone meal based diets. Squid meal was found to be a good source of supplemental protein for prawns . When shrimp were fed diets containing squid meal feed conversion and gain was increased. In trials with gilthead seabream squid meal was found to be an excellent supplemental protein source.

While the benefit sof using squid meal are very good, the high expensive of this ingredient could prhobot it's use.
